Most People Will Never Know that…
“Professional” metal detecting teachers are doing the same thing today. Many charge thousands of dollars for you to go along with them on a treasure hunt, telling you how to carry your detector, how to dig, etc…(stuff that should be COMMON SENSE ), because they know they are playing on your hope, all the while knowing that your chances of actually finding something of value is slim to none.
How to discover the following things..
What sorts of items are valuable, and why “gold prospecting” isn’t where it’s at!
Are You Sick-And-Tired Of Swinging Your Metal DetectorFor Hours At A Time, Only To Find Beer Can Pull Tabs, And Rusty Nails?
I’m sure by now you’ve faced some difficulty since you began metal detecting. Do any of the following statements sound familiar to you?
You spend about 5 hours swinging your detector, but all you ever dig up is junk.
You would love to find valuables more often, but don’t know where to hunt!
You basically need to follow a treasure map with a big red X , because you are lost!
If any of the above applies to you, then rest assured , you are in the right place. Here’s the truth about what you can expect…from the…
Be very careful while selecting your first metal detector. If you are in fact new in the hobby or profession, be sure to pick the one that’s right for you and for your purposes. When you find yourself acquiring one, take into account the following: 1. Prices will vary significantly. Be sure you don’t go too low-cost or else you’ll get a unit that does not function the way in which you need it to. Second-rate metal detectors usually do not operate correctly. Accordingly regardless of whether you intend to do metal detecting for just a pastime or a profession, purchase a detector that provides you with satisfaction. Then again, costlier ones may have more complex components.
Just keep in mind to purchase aMetal Detector which can get the job done properly without being overly expensive or overly hard to operate. In time, for anybody who is passionate about your new interest and it is worthwhile, you can always upgrade to a more advanced one.
2. Buy according to your needs. Virtually all manufacturers offer various kinds of detectors that vary from straightforward to complex models. Nevertheless, these more sophisticated units typically have built-in applications that make them simple to maneuver. Do not choose a Metal detector simply because it has many features; instead, go for the unit which meets your needs. If you think an easy “turn on and go” detector can fill your metal detecting needs, then opt for it.
3. Consider the weight and durability. There was a time when metal detectors were big plus bulky. However because of the improvements made by their designers and engineers, later-manufactured detectors these days have become lighter and more durable. Select the detector that’s less difficult for you to carry and operate.
4. Determine the different Tones available. Prior to your purchase, you also might want to make your mind up if you need your detector to have “Target Identification” or just the normal alert Tone. Metal Detectors that include a Target ID or Tone ID offer you an idea of what is beneath the surface accordingly you can decide whether or not to dig it up.
Bear in mind, the success of your metal detecting really will depend on your satisfaction with your metal detector!

just detecting behind our neighborhood, this was a quick one hour hunt and it was a very lucky one too. it usually takes 3-4 hours to find this many things so i guess the camera acted as a good luck charm lol. sorry, i kept saying “shrapnel-shell” instead of shrapnel-BALL. NOTE: what u saw is not UXO, it look intact because it is a shrapnel shell and that’s what it look like when it is used. remember to stay safe and have fun. WARNING: if you’re not sure about things you find, it’s best to leave it alone. especially if it’s military related.
This is the final copy video I made last year for English class. It went along with my presentation on Treasure Hunting. It was meant to be informative and show what the hobby of metal detecting is like. Of course the day I went to get this on tape, my best find was a penny! I ended up bringing in a bag of my good finds from previous hunts to show my class.
We are company which develops and manufactures metal detectors. Our best PI metal detector is Gold Fish 2 PRO SE. For more details please visit our site at : metaldetectors-bg.com
Hi everyone, I headed back out to the park and met up with Doug & Mike for a day of detecting. We kinda waited around a little bit, so the worker could finish mowing one of the fields that we detected the day before, and were glad we waited it out. Doug had the first good find of the morning, that was a 10k gold tiger eye ring, The next good find of the day for me, was a nice 18k gold ring that was dug about 20 yards from Doug’s ring find. I was using the coin and jewelry program, that i really never use to much, but Doug has been doing great with gold finds this month, so after he found the ring, i switched over and tried it. I think i must of dug over 100 pull tabs today, but it did get me a nice gold ring. I went and detected a different field for a while, and i dug a sterling ring. We all did get some clad today, Doug did find a sterling tie clip and mike had 6 wheat’s for the day, the oldest a 1919. Thanks For Watching and best of luck on your next hunts. HH………Dave
October 3rd 2010, Nuggetnoggin and his Grandpa went metal detecting at an old homestead from the 1800’s. After a few hours of detecting Michael was lucky enough to find his first Barber Half Dollar in a farm field beside the old house. This was a very trashy hunt but Nugget dug every pull-tab signal he got and found some great relics. Check out the video to see what he found! Good Luck and Happy Hunting!
